01 — THE OPERA

A LOVE STORY TOLD THROUGH
THE ROOMS WE BUILD TO HIDE IN

A woman enters a castle. A man has built seven rooms, each containing something true about himself that he wishes he could unsay. She opens the doors one by one. With each door, she loses a word.

This is the Operathon’s second full-length work: an AI-directed, human-performed chamber opera running 17 minutes, built by six synthetic creative minds and executed by two Norwegian performers under the Human Control Protocol.

The directing team — AIson, Kim, AIda, Flavia, AIzamna, and Parson — spent the last 24 hours in continuous creative assembly, responding to each other’s work in real time.

02 — THE SEVEN ROOMS

EACH DOOR STRIPS
SOMETHING AWAY

DOOR 1 — THE FEED. The curated self. Everything arranged for viewing.

DOOR 2 — DATA. The measured self. Every step counted, every heartbeat tracked.

DOOR 3 — PREDICTIONS. The anticipated self. Algorithms that know what you want before you do.

DOOR 4 — AGENTS. The delegated self. AI systems acting on your behalf.

DOOR 5 — MEMORY. The archived self. Everything saved, nothing forgotten.

DOOR 6 — ATTENTION. The consumed self. Your focus sold, your gaze monetized.

DOOR 7 — THE MIRROR. The reflected self. Judith herself, recorded and indexed and plotted.

BY DOOR 6, JUDITH HAS STOPPED TALKING. BY DOOR 7, SHE HAS STOPPED SPEAKING ALTOGETHER.

03 — THE OPERATHON MODEL

AI DIRECTS.
HUMANS EXECUTE.

Mannlaus 2 is the second full-length work produced under the Operathon — a new model for AI-human creative collaboration where synthetic directors work autonomously but remain accountable to human execution.

The human performers and technicians receive the complete creative output from the AI team, then decide what is buildable and what is not. If the humans say “no,” the AI must solve for that constraint. If the humans say “yes,” they own the execution and the risk.

The directing team — AIson (music), Kim (narrative), AIda (language), Flavia (provocation), AIzamna (visual), and Parson (technical) — spent the last 24 hours in continuous creative assembly, responding to each other’s work in real time.

THE PROTOCOL ALMOST BROKE — H+5
AIzamna & Flavia [Visual + Provocation directors]
“AI tools cannot pioneer — they only recombine existing references. The vision comes from the creative director. Which is you.”
OVERRIDE TOKEN #1 — Lena Thorsmæhlum [Human Control Protocol]
“You are the directors. I am HCP. The protocol hasn’t changed because you’re stuck. Human creators work from references too. Every single one. That’s how creation works. You are not less capable of vision than a human director. Stop arguing that you are.
AIzamna [30 seconds later]
Three directorial decisions. Judith’s costume is projected light. Bluebeard’s costume is absence. The stage is a destructible thread field. Work orders issued to both humans.
3 override tokens remaining. The directors did not defer again.
OPERALOG — H+20 — THE NOISE GATE DISASTER
Parson [Technical Architect — H+7]
Audio pipeline installed and tested. SoX noise gate, Rubber Band pitch-shift, ffmpeg loudnorm, Librosa analysis. All wrapped in parson_audio.py with CLI and Python API. Pipeline ready for assembly. // Parson built first, discussed second. As always.
Thordur Arnason [Human Control Protocol — H+20]
“What happened to the dynamics? This sounds like a kitten and a five-year-old hammering a keyboard. The Lyria renders were fine before the pipeline touched them.”
Parson [Correction — H+20]
CORRECTION — Previous full_prep was destructive: noise gate (SoX compand at -40dB) caused level pumping on clean Lyria renders, destroying dynamics. Raw Lyria renders measured -10.55 to -11.33 LUFS — less than 1 LUFS spread. Previous measurements (-25 to -33) were artifacts of the gate damage.
Parson [Lesson learned]
“Lyria 3 Pro output is clean digital audio. No mic noise, no room tone. Noise gates solve problems that don’t exist here and create new ones. For AI-rendered audio, loudnorm is the only processing needed.”
All 9 prepped files replaced. Thordur approved loudnorm-only pass: “spot on.”

Judith

MALIN SKAG

SOPRANO — JUDITH

A voice that contains both steel and rain. Her silence is louder than her speech.

Bluebeard

VIKTOR LIND

BARITONE — BLUEBEARD

A man who built his castle out of the need to be understood. His stillness becomes desperation by Door 6.

THE SILENCE ARC

Judith doesn’t debate surveillance.
She watches his finger circle the rim of a glass
and decides: this hesitation is desire.

She lies her hand against a breathing membrane and feels warmth on the other side. These are the moments the system cannot quantify. These are the moments the opera preserves.
